Modular Certificates Accumulation Scheme
Objectives
To encourage members of the public (including females and homemakers) who are not able to take training courses of the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) offering in full-time mode owing to their family roles to make flexible study arrangement and acquire recognised qualifications; and to help unleash the potential of labour force and mitigate the impact of a shrinking labour force.
Operational Mode
Under the Modular Certificates Accumulation Scheme, upon successful completion of a number of specified half-day or evening courses, trainees may apply for a certificate bearing a qualification equivalent to a designated full-time course from a Training Body1 offering the last half-day or evening course on the list. Trainees must complete all the specified half-day or evening courses within 5 years2 in order to apply for a certificate bearing a qualification equivalent to a corresponding full-time course. There are no restrictions on the choices of Training Bodies and the sequence of study (unless otherwise specified).
