The launching ceremony "7.18 ERB Embarks on a New Era" was held at Times Square, Causeway Bay on 18 July 2008. The ceremony was officiated by the Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Paul Tang, JP, the Chairman of ERB Mr. Michael Tien, BBS, JP and the Executive Director of ERB Ms. Rebecca Pun, JP, more than 200 guests including representatives from different sectors joined the bustling event.

The ceremony was opened with a catwalk show and dancing performance introducing the new courses of ERB followed by the logo launch gimmick and premiere of the new TV advertisement signifying a new start of ERB. At the end of the ceremony, the officiating guests, ERB members and representatives of training bodies joined hands to support the "Manpower Development Scheme, representing the Board's new vision: ERB is committed to providing a flexible, quality and resilient work-force for the knowledge-based economy of Hong Kong.
