ERB Won Three Special Awards of the “Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme 2020”

The Employees Retraining Board (ERB) won three special awards of the “Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme 2020”, including the “Age-friendly Employer Award”, “Age-friendly Collaborator Award” and “Our City’s Story Award”, symbolising its outstanding performance and contributions in encouraging elderly employment, mobilising different resources to launch initiatives or practices that benefit the elderly on a sustainable basis, and promoting an age-friendly culture in Hong Kong.

In 2019-20, ERB accorded mature persons as the priority target group in its promotion strategy and established “Post-50” as the new title for persons aged 50 or above. The “Post-50 Branding Campaign” was launched to showcase the outstanding qualities of the “Post-50”, advocate public recognition to the value of the “Post-50” and enhance employers’ confidence in hiring the “Post-50”.  Meanwhile, ERB has been providing diversified training courses and support services to the “Post-50”, and special programmes, including the “Post-50 Love Upgrading Scheme”, “Post-50 Internship Programme”, “First-Hire-Then-Train” Scheme, etc., were organised to motivate the “Post-50” to attend training for upgrading the knowledge and skills required for returning to the workplace.

ERB will continue its endeavours to support the training and employment needs of the “Post-50”.  For related course and service information, please refer to the “Post-50” dedicated website at www.erb.org/post50 (in Chinese only).
